Vertical Panel Roofing At A Glance
Durable, budget-friendly metal panels for diverse buildings
Vertical panel systems deliver strong, economical roofing and siding solutions for residential, agricultural, and light commercial structures. They feature overlapping ribs that shed water efficiently, span long distances, and install quickly—making them a favorite for barns, shops, garages, barndominiums, and retrofit projects.
Unlike premium concealed-fastener systems, vertical panels use exposed, gasketed fasteners for speed and value. Modern coatings, quality substrates, and correct detailing provide long service life, excellent weather resistance, and a wide selection of colors to match your design goals.
R-Panel, PBR, and 5V Crimp with exposed fasteners
Choose from industry-standard profiles: R-Panel, PBR, and 5V crimp. All are exposed-fastener systems using corrosion-resistant screws with neoprene washers that compress to create a watertight seal. R-Panel and PBR offer high strength and versatile spanning for metal buildings and retrofit applications, while classic 5V crimp provides a traditional look often preferred for coastal or historic aesthetics.
Panels are available in multiple gauges (commonly 29, 26, and 24), galvanized or galvalume substrates, and durable paint systems such as SMP or premium PVDF. With manufacturer-dependent color palettes that range from traditional solids to modern metallics and textured finishes, you can balance budget, performance, and curb appeal. These are the metal roof world’s economy panels—cost-effective without sacrificing essential protection.
Fasteners, underlayment, trim, and weatherproofing details
Proper installation starts with substrate preparation and moisture management. A quality synthetic underlayment, appropriate ice and water protection at vulnerable areas, and sound decking or purlins set the foundation. Panel orientation, sidelap sealant where specified, and attention to manufacturer-stated minimum slopes (often as low as 1:12 for certain profiles and conditions) help ensure leak-free performance.
Exposed fasteners must be sized for substrate thickness and installed perpendicular to the panel with correct torque to compress, not crush, the neoprene washers. Closure strips at ridges and eaves, butyl tape at laps, and well-formed trim (eave, rake, ridge caps, transitions, and headwall/sidewall flashing) are crucial details. Thermal movement accommodations and straight, true panel runs reduce oil-canning and preserve aesthetics.
If you prefer a concealed-fastener look, consider our Standing Seam options: Snap Lock and Field Lock with multiple rib heights and pan conditions (stiffening ribs, striations, or flat pan) and expansive color choices tied to your chosen paint system and manufacturer. For premium aesthetics, explore Stone-Coated Steel in Tile, Wood Shake, and Shingle profiles or Metal Slate—EDCO is our preferred manufacturer for its remarkably realistic slate appearance. Need help with issues on an existing roof? Metal roof repairs and coatings should be performed by top-tier installers—our crews handle complex repairs to extend service life and restore performance.

Tracey's company did our metal roof back in 2021 and did an excellent job. The house is on the large side, so we expected a high price tag, but Tracey's quote ended up on the lower end. As an engineer, I had quite a few questions and Tracey took the time to discuss in detail everything I asked. I was happy to see that Tracey is a perfectionist, checking minute details on bends and folds and even going around the yard after the job was completed, looking for loose/dropped screws. The attached image shows the finished job from a drone shot and it looks beautiful. In addition, our power bills dropped 25% minimum once the roof was installed, due to higher reflectance and emissive properties of the metal (vs. shingles). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tracey for any roofing job you require, large or small. M. Gadallah2025-10-24Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tracey completed a metal roof for another home in our neighborhood. When we needed ours redone due to hail damage, I asked who they used. They highly recommended Tracey, so I reached out. Tracey is incredibly honest, easy to work with, and works hard to get the job done right. Our metal roof connects to a shingled roof, and we have had a leak between the two for 8 years. 3 roofing companies have not been able to fix the problem, even after replacing the shingled roof. Tracey got the job done. We have not had any leaks since! Highly recommend!

Pricing, Warranties, And How To Get Started
Transparent estimates, proven products, and a smooth process
Vertical panel systems typically offer one of the lowest installed costs among metal roofs. Final pricing depends on panel profile, gauge, paint system, substrate, roof complexity, tear-off needs, and trim/accessory requirements. We provide detailed, line-by-line estimates so you understand materials, labor, and options—helping you compare value versus premium alternatives like standing seam.
Quality panels often carry substrate warranties and 30–40+ year paint warranties (SMP or PVDF, depending on manufacturer), along with hardware and workmanship coverage. We match products to your project’s environment, addressing coastal/corrosion considerations, fastener selection, and maintenance plans to maximize service life and keep warranties intact.
Getting started is simple: schedule a consultation, we perform measurements and condition assessments, help you choose profile, gauge, and color, then finalize your scope and timeline. Installation is executed by experienced metal specialists who follow manufacturer specs and industry best practices, concluding with a final quality check and cleanup. If you’re exploring alternatives, we can also quote Standing Seam, Stone-Coated Steel (Tile, Wood Shake, Shingle), Metal Slate by EDCO, or targeted metal roof repairs and coatings to match your needs and budget.
